Note: please see our other post about the future of Gallifrey One Conventions.
Gallifrey One in 35 Millimetre is now in the books… and we want to thank all of YOU for helping us make it happen. With over 3,000 attendees, guests and staff, we feel this was the most fun and successful event we’ve run in years. We were very excited with this year’s final guest lineup, and nearly everything went off without a hitch… except, of course, for the lack of escalators and a few other glitches at the Marriott LAX.
Speaking of which, we want to thank you all for your patience and understanding as both escalators were out of commission this year, one expected, one a surprise to us when we arrived. Although there were some bottleneck times with the elevators, we hope it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. Special thanks as well to those of you who had to deal with other hotel-related issues such as the network being down for a couple hours on Friday; we know some of you had to leave luggage at the concierge desk or were unable to get into your rooms. We can’t express our appreciation enough for all of you, and we hope the convention itself was everything you expected.
We also know that this year’s Closing Ceremonies featured a very unexpected ending, as we announced that Gallifrey One Conventions will conclude in 2028. And although that year will be the end, the moment has been prepared for… please read our separate article for a full statement about what’s happening, how we’re going to deal with our last three events, and what the future will hold. But first, let’s go over this year’s event and preview 2026 as well.
Attendance: A grand total of 3,006 people registered for our 2025 convention (including last-minute no-shows). Although we were a bit behind the curve we expected this year, we had over a hundred people purchase tickets on site (and still not sell out!) But we’d also really like to thank all of you for buying your tickets early last year… this helps us tremendously, and benefits you, as we budget our guest lineup entirely based on ticket sales.
Charity Auction: We are absolutely overjoyed that the 2025 Bob May Memorial Charity Auction not only was our most financially successful charity event, but it isn’t even close… our previous record was approximately $21,000, but for the Cancer Support Community Los Angeles we raised an incredible $37,000 this year. We are still processing the last few transactions and will be reaching out to the charity this week. Our special thanks to Cristin O’Leary Jones and Kelsey Funk of CSCLA for their support, as well as our wonderful charity auction staff. Special thanks as well to our BBC guests Vanessa Hamilton & John Hamer, who brought several original props from the convention that raised a lot of money (which will soon be on display at the National Film & Sci-Fi Museum in the UK!), and our long-time guest Tony Lee, who auctioned off appearances in his Jack Gatland New York Times bestselling mystery novels.
Special thanks to our guests this year… Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Jenna Coleman, Catherine Tate, Julie Gardner, Steven Moffat, Joel Collins, Louise Jameson, Katy Manning, Nicola Bryant, Wendy Padbury, Frazer Hines, Michelle Greenidge, Susan Twist, Mark Sheppard, Sean Carlsen, David Gooderson, Alex Macqueen, Miles Richardson, Safiyya Ingar, Kate Herron, Briony Redman, Julie Anne Robinson, Juliet Landau, Mara Wilson, Alimi Ballard, Philip Rhys Chaudhary, Gigi Edgley, Scott Handcock, Blair Mowat, Charlie Hayes, Lizzie Hopley, Paul Magrs, Jonathan Morris, John Dorney, Andrew Smith, Andy Lane, Gary Russell, Tony Lee, Nev Fountain, Lisa McMullin, Blair Shedd, Jody Houser, Nigel Fairs, Alfie Shaw, Marv Wolfman, Christopher Jones, Barbara Hambly, Anita Sengupta, Trina Ray, Krys Blackwood, Kim Steadman, Sarah Milkovich, Craig Miller, Rossa McPhillips, Dick Fiddy, Cherry Cheva, Darren Jones, Ben Tedds, Darin Henry, Ursula Burton, Scott Tipton, Robert Napton, Dan Peck, Lizzie Worsdell, Diane Franklin, Karl Held, Daniel Bohman, Ardeshir Radpour, Larry Nemecek, Travis Richey, James Kerwin, and Jason Haigh-Ellery.

We would also like to thank our guest sponsors and representatives, our interviewers, special event organizers and program contributors including Jason Joiner, Paul Jones, Laurence Wreford, Phil Collinson, Matthew Campbell-Dell, Georgina Kibble, Kelsey Work, Ken Deep, Sophie-May Twose, Kaleigh O’Boyle, Steven Warren Hill, Athena Stamos, Bob Mitsch, Joy Piedmont, Paul Booth, Dick Fiddy, Warren Frey, Steven Schapansky, Christopher Burgess, Pat Harper, Gene Smith, Dev Weekes, Emily Schindler, Kim Rogers, Sage Young, Dan Murphy, Kat Griffiths, Riley Silverman, Amanda-Rae Prescott, Ben Oquendo-Paddon, Ross Ruediger, Tim Davis, Connor Allen, Sean Mason, Taylor Deatherage, Heather Berberet, Stacy Watnick, Nick Seidler, Adrienne Enderle, Abie Ekenezar, Shawna Hafen, Ave Maria Hackett, Gareth Kavanagh and Keith Barnfather, as well as our friends at Showmasters Events and their staff. Most of all, thank you – all of our attendees, our panelists, our cosplayers, our dealers, our exhibitors, our tireless enthusiasts, our volunteers, and our friends – for making this an AMAZING year! We could NOT do this without all of you.
If you’d like to let us know what you think, we welcome your feedback via email. We welcome both positive and negative feedback; constructive criticism is very important and we definitely love hearing from you about anything you think we could do better.
Have Convention Photos to Share?
With some changes being made going forward to our Facebook presence (the main one will be our primary tool for 2026, and the event page will be locked down to prevent spamming), many people are also posting their photos and memories on the unofficial Gallifrey One Fans, Friends & Attendees Facebook group, which is an unofficial and separate group run by Gallifrey One attendees (but fully supported by us!) Meanwhile, if you wish to submit photos for our online photo album let us know via email. For our online gallery, which we are still working on, we are mostly interested in good, high-quality photos of our guests, our discussion panels, and amazing cosplay; at this time we are not looking for photos of individual attendees posing with guests.
Photo Studio Pics Coming Soon
Digital copies of all of the photos taken in this year’s Photo Studio will be online very soon… we will announce it here, as well as on our social media accounts, so please check back within the next two weeks; we’ll add links here onto this page as well.
Onward to 2026…
Gallifrey One Conventions is delighted to announce our next convention, The 36 Legends of Gallifrey One: Stories Untold, taking place February 6-8, 2026 at the Marriott Los Angeles Airport Hotel. This is earlier than usual, i.e. not on President’s Day Weekend, due to the NBA All Star Game taking place on our regular weekend (which takes over many of the larger hotels in the area).
We’re already working on some terrific guests, and expect much of the same type of events and programming as we had in 2025: a fully-stocked Dealers Room and Art Show, four tracks of programming, gaming and children’s programming, meetups & social events, and lots more. We’ll be sharing details about our next convention later in the year:
- Tickets for Gallifrey One 2026 will go on sale in April. We don’t really make a big deal about the date and time, as we don’t sell out any more; just keep an eye out for our social media announcements or check back on the website! (Dealers who were in our 2025 room can expect to hear from us about space reservations for next year in April.)
- Our hotel reservations day will be in early May, at a date and time to be announced. This is always a major stress on people (and it’s our least favorite day of the year, too) but we’ve had tremendous luck getting most people into the Marriott… and of course, there are plenty of rooms at nearby hotels. (Note: due to our date shift, we don’t know what will be happening in the Hilton LAX that weekend.)
- We take our usual summer break (when those of us who work actively on the convention for most of the year take a break from it to recharge) which usually lasts from hotel reservations day until the fall. However… we expect to start announcing guests this spring; in fact, we’re actively working on that right now. We will also open Art Show reservations sometime this summer/fall.
- You can start expecting regular convention updates in late fall, usually around October.
We look forward to having all of you back for The 36 Legends of Gallifrey One: Stories Untold in 2026… the first of our final three conventions (see more information about that here). Thanks for joining us this year and see you then!
