Many attendees come to the convention seeking a souvenir of their visit with their favorite guests, which include autographs. As a service to our membership, Gallifrey One provides many autographing opportunities with our guests throughout the weekend. However, due to the realities of the size of the convention and the amount of time our guests are contracted for, we cannot guarantee you will leave the convention with every autograph you want to have. Nevertheless, we hope the following information will aid you in choosing the best approach to getting your much-needed autographs over the course of the weekend.
Gallifrey One provides an autograph opportunity for our attendees but does not provide autographs for free from our major celebrities and actors. As part of our contract with our actors and major celebrities, autographs can be given for a nominal charge. Each guest is allowed to price his/her own autograph fee, and payments are made directly to the guest; no money is paid to Gallifrey One at any time. It is best to bring CASH for these autographs. (On average, they run anywhere between $10-25, but some can be higher.) Other guests may autograph free of charge. Our autographs take place in two locations: all actors and major guests now sign in our Dealers Room; while some authors, technical guests and other featured speakers sign in our Autograph Alley.
As of 2014, we have once again expanded our dealers room... not adding dealers, but enhancing the space to allow areas for autographing. All major convention guests including actors and celebrities will be signing in the Dealers Room, either at a fixed time or as an open-ended signing session. All guests signing in the Dealers Room will do so for a nominal fee, to be set by themselves (or their sponsor), at times posted at their table/booth. There are currently no restrictions on how many autographs these guests will provide at a time, but please note the guest and/or their sponsors (if they have one) reserve the right to do so.
Lines will form for guests in different areas and these lines will be identified in your program book, along with the start & end time (for fixed autographs) or approximate time periods (for open-ended sessions). Additionally, there will be a line attendant at the back of each line with a placard noting who is signing for that line. There are no restrictions on the number of autographs you may acquire except those specified by the guest in question.
Some authors and technical guests as well as featured speakers may sign in our "Autograph Alley," which is in the room immediately across from the back entrance of the Dealers Room. These guests have prearranged start times for their autograph sessions, but please note: autograph sessions for these guests will start immediately at the announced time, and will only run as long as there are people waiting for autographs. We have given our signing authors and other guests the option to finish their session as soon as any lines clear, so you must be on time for these sessions.
In order to provide our attendees with a positive experience while waiting for an autograph from guests in our Autograph Alley or Dealers Room, we will not permit saving places for friends in any autograph lines, or allow jumping ahead in line to join a friend/relative.
Due to time constraints and our wish to allow everyone possible a chance for an autograph, we will not be able to permit members to ask for photos with the guests during autograph sessions. Our guests may choose to allow the taking of personal photos at other times, and attendees are welcome to have their photo taken during our professionally-run photo sessions in the Photo Studio throughout the weekend.
Gallifrey One reserves the right to alter these policies or alter the category of each guest at any time.
We appreciate your understanding and hope that this will make the autographs policy at Gallifrey One enjoyable for everyone.
